Default Hard to Find Porsche Poster

Back in the mid 80's Porsche had a factory poster that I have been looking for for quite some time to no avail. It was approx 2'x3' and showed a black 930 from the rear with all 4 wheels off of the ground. The text at the bottom of the poster stated: "One Ride and you will understand why most rocket scientists are German." If anyone has any info on finding this please lead me in the right direction. I have searched the web as well as most well known suppliers, including the few that advertise in Pano and Excellence. Thank you in advance.

My father got that poster as a direct mail piece with his last name on the license plate. great campaign. I still remember it to this day and would also love to be able to get my hands on a copy. I too have searched the web exhaustively. Please share with the board if you find it. thanks!

Try www.makebigdaddyrich.com I'm not sure if he's got it but he's got tons of old posters.

I have tried both ebay as well as bigdaddys....no luck. What are the archives? Do you have a URL?

That was not a for-sale poster. It was part of the factory sales program. I got one in the mail with my name in the license plate. You might be able to find it on eBay, or try sending an Email to PCNA headquarters, it was their marketing campaign.

As others have said, keep watching ebay. I have seen that poster a few times in the last couple months.

I had asked this question a couple years ago and was directed to a website that contained high-resolution scans of the poster. I downloaded them and have them on my computer. However, I just checked and the site is no longer around. Since I don't have a means of posting a 96MB TIFF image (62MB Zipped), I can mail a CD to someone who does if more than one person wants the file. If only a cople want it, I can mail out disks.

I had originally planned to take the file to a Kinkos to have them print a poster, but new got around to it. I may look into it again.

Let me know if youwant the file.

BTW, here is smaller version of the file.

Noel, I sent you a PM. This is a good first step. If anyone has a low-res image of the full poster including the copy, I will recreate the poster (I work for a graphic design studio) and then put together a poster for those interested. Any image of the layout is appreciated.

If you were able to send on disk, I would greatly appreciate it. I have been searching for this for a very very long time.

Default Got the file from Noah

Bad news. It looks like a high-res digital photo of the poster. Below is a screengrab of the poster and you can see dead areas of the photo (black blocks). At a larger size I am not sure it will look good. I am going to try a little photoshop magic.

Default screengrab of hi-res

I'll see what I can do with this. If you look closely at Noel's original above you can see th black blocks there as well. But I will find a way to make it work!. I want this poster.

Default Poster

Kirk,
The two black areas between the tires I think are gravel and from what I remember they were clearly evident in the poster I saw years ago. Please keep us all posted and thank you for your work on this!
