Default Restarting a car after 10 years!?

Does any one have a good checklist of what to check/replace on a car (964) that has been sitting in a garage for 10! years.... I figure the obvious like draining fuel and replacing etc, filters, battery etc but i have no idea where to start - car doesnt turn over start currently, fuel pump is not appearing to be working so ordering a new one. bypassed the relay and it still didnt work so figure its def the pump but not particularly experienced with 964's so appreciate any help at all!

the varnish from evaporating fuel has probably glued your pump internals together. May be a way to break it loose. You may have popped a fuse for the fuel pump if its stuck.

It is probably hydrolocked. IE all the oil leaked into the combustion chamber.

The car I bought that sat for 5 years and they had to remove the plugs and get the oil out of the chambers for it to turn over. The PO owner did do quite a bit getting it running before I purchased the car. I have reciepts for $7k in the months just before buying, and about $19K in the last 20K miles total up til I bought it including an engine rebuild, plus I have put a few thousand more in it, but runs very well now.

Even after they did what they did to get it running it still had a bad idle and stalled, but it's all good now.

The first 964 I bought sat for 3 years it needed a complete engine reseal, other than that it ran like a champ. Now that I think of it, the tires had some issue too.

Sitting for 10 years, sounds like there's a bit of a story, please tell.
Three 964's in your sig, now that's just greedy.

Haha, this one is number four, totally unintentional but I couldn't resist. Was bought new by the previous owner in 91. Ten years later this man fell victim to the new jersey police force for dealing drugs, he went to jail, his little red drug mule went to a lock up garage and thus she sat for 10 long years. Paint is like new, a bit of a musty smell and some frozen door latches and rotten tires are the only obvious visible impairments. Suprisingly the rubber hosing seems ok, none of it brittle or cracked. I'll find out more tomorrow when I attempt to get this thing diagnosed. I'll get some pictures too as I know how fond this forum is of a jpeg or 2.

Well as long as the world doesn't end tomorrow I'll make sure this victim makes a full recovery.

Tan 12-way power heated seats... drool. Wait, I mean, those are really heavy, want to trade for some lighter 4-way power versions?

Might be a good idea to give all that dry leather a good soak with Connolly's/etc.
