Default Porsche Interior Color Code LQ - 1986 951

I am going to get the drivers side bolster repaired or replaced in my 1986 951.

My window sticker has the Color Exterior of G1G1 Guards Red. I have the light colored interior and it is shown as LQ on the window sticker.

Does anybody know the color for the LQ designation?

Mine has the Partial Leather front seats listed. A $414 option in model year 1986.

It is the same as shown in the first picture here on Pelicans forum. Nobody knows there either. A trip across Houston to Porsche is likely in order.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I checked the Warranty Book insert sticker.

It calls out exterior paint number of LM3A.

And again the interior of LQ .

We kicked this issue around recently and here's the scoop. My original door sticker says that LQ is light Grey. for a long time I was convinced that the interior vinyl was linen but I found that it did indeed come out after my 87 model year. So there you have it. Light Grey= LQ

Deja vu.
https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-...-go-again.html

It is "light grey," but it is mroe tan than grey. Here are pictures of my interior when it was still in the car: https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-...and-black.html

I did a search before posting but somehow missed that thread. Thanks. While I believe the code, and the other thread, it sure does not look grey-ish in the car.
But of course it was done by German engineers!

In reading about some of the replacements I guess it does not matter if a pro does the job. Just match what that is in the car. But if you order the DIY kit then it matters a lot. This might be a pro job.

Sorry, I didn't mean it like that. I think there was another thread I couldn't find discussing it. It is just comical that there is so much confusion around this interior code - and with good reason! I'm like you, there is no way that interior resembles a grey in any manner. Wish I had the reference book mentioned in that one thread, because I wonder what they called grey? Pretty rare color (I've only seen it on one car, a 91 S2), but decidedly grey.

Default 2 months Later

I went to the Porsche dealer to get new mats for the car front and back last month.

They say (surprisingly) that they can get original Porsche in black (no), burgundy (no), beige and classic gray. So we discuss a bit and they say it has to be biege. I say on Rennlist we pretty much decided that it is LQ for light gray. Anyway, that is not an option, so I order the beige.

Today they call and my order is in. Motor over and get them and some new hood liners came with them. When I look - uhhh, brown or at least brown-er. Take them home and lay in the car.

Definitely gray. Definitely light gray.

Oh well back to dealer tomorrow for an exchange. They will be trying to sell me a Panamera, or something else again. Maybe I will drive over in the 951.

Then they can say

"What is that?"

How much were the mats?

If they don't offer an exchange/return, I have an 86 with a brown interior in need of floor mats.

Thanks and I bet these are much more right for your car.

I am just going to exchange them as we had worked it out before I left with them.

$ 199.16 for the complete set of four. Porsche Part 000-044-801-44-8UT Floormat

When I saw them of course I was pretty sure it was not going to be a match.

But Momentum will exchange them for no re-stock. As I did not have the car there we just decided to take the beige and have a look but not to open the Porsche labeled bags they are in.

I did not get any pics uploaded but I will say that just about any brown interior, beige, or saddle, or tan will go with the brown ones I listed. I walked by a couple of new P cars on the way in and I held them to the interior of even these and it matched well.
