Torched GT3

Just got a 2010 Guards Red GT3 (Pictures to follow) and wondering if anybody has removed the yellow warning stickers on the back of the seats and on the sun visors. I have the standard sport seats with the silver backs. How did you remove your stickers or did you leave them on.I once owned a Corvette Z06 and ruined the sun visor trying to remove the sticker since it was heat applied and don't want that to happen again. Please advise. Greg

If they are pad printed, it will be very difficult. Any solvent that will remove the ink will destroy the base plastic too. That must be one of the reasons why places like Suncoast sells european visors without those labels.

Stickers: Use heat gun (or hair drier) to warm it up and gently peel it off. After than there are solvent that can clean the residal glue.

Thanks for the tip this sure makes me nervous anybody succeed removing these.I'm good at ruining stuff been there done that. Greg

The warnings are widely hated, and much is written about their removal. There are different procedures for removing warnings on hard plastic (visor mirror cover, seat back) and soft material (leather or vinyl) on the visor, so read all material carefully:

I used a hairdrier and accetone solvent for the seat backs, it came out perfect. no luck on visors printed on.

If accetone did not take the silver of your seatbacks your lucky I would not want to use accetone seems kind of harsh I could be wrong.

a little WD40 will do the trick. Just wipe the excess residue with a damp cloth with water.

Weird, the seat back stickers in my car peeled off in minutes with no fuss or drama. Maybe living in Texas is the same as using a heat gun. I spent hours and hours working on the sun visors, though, with mediocre results.

3M adhesive remover and alot of patience. Been written up many times. Worked for me.

I didn't mess with the visors, but seatback stickers peeled off easily, then a bit of Goo-Gone cleaned up the residue wiith no issues.

Funny you should ask. I was concerned too, but it is not a big deal at all. I sat in the back (seat?) and used a single edge razor to raise enough of the label to get my fingers on it, then just slowly pulled while following with the razor blade. Wiped it off with alcohol. Took maybe 5 minutes. Good luck.

Thanks for everyone's input. By the sound of it I'll remove the seat back stickers myself and not mess with the sunvisor stickers unless I want to replace them with new visors with no stickers.

You can also buy black vinyl stickers (search e-bay) that cover the sunvisor labels. While not perfect, they do a pretty good job of hiding the ugly printing from the factory. These blank stickers are a close match to the texture and black vinyl of the stock sunvisors and cost about $20.
