I live in S. Cal and drive fairly aggressively and am wondering what the best summer tire is to buy for 19" rims. I currently have the Diamaris, but understand that Michelin has recently come out with the Latitude Sport (not the Tour), am also considering the Toyos. What's the difference in these tires and does anyone have any recommendations?

The Latitude Tour HP is an all season tire focused on comfort, longevity, and all season traction.

The Diamaris is a summer tire which should have better dry performance at the expense of increased wear.

There is a difference between the Latitude Sport vs. Tour. And I also understand that all of the 08' Cayennes will come with the Latitude Sports.

I'd be curious what would be the "longevity" of Latitudes on Cayennes.

I went through a set of OEM Diamaris in 20k mi. They're on an 06 CTT, with varied driving. I've been considering the Toyos after a search on this site and a neat "speed trial link" posted by Tim in NJ. My price will be $190 @ out the door...so...a seemingly capable, good tire, at approx $170 less per tire than the Diamaris or the Latitude. It's worth looking into for me. Hope this helps.

I have the Yokohama Advan ST's, over 15K miles, run great, pretty sticky, a little noisy when cold. 2004 CTT, 20" tires on sports rim

My 08 came with Pirelli P O Rossos in 21" wheels. Does not currently look like I have an all season hi performance option. In Seattle don't need total Winter tires but would like to have all season capability, any suggestions?

If you are going to stay away from Big Bear and Mammoth during the winter - then I would go with Michelin Diamaris (I loved them on my Cayenne) but let me tell you - get them in ANY snow or colder weather and they just suffer.

Get a High Performance M&S if you plan on heading to the "white stuff"...

I heard good things about the Advan ST by yokohama..

I used dedicated snow tires, in summer time i recommend the diamaris..

Ordered Diamaris a few days ago, they're $261.99/tire at Costco (online order - delivered to local store, if not in stock, I'm waiting on delivery).. Even at my dealer the tires are just over $300.. so don't know where mambo-jambo-doc is getting $360/tire (although dealer bills hourly for installation so it probably works out to ~ that price). BTW, Diamaris are the only summer tire I'd recommend due to shimmy, road force issues (search forum read old threads).... if you read through the threads it seems Michelins do hold up well.

In the past, I've done all my tires through the dealer because of previous shimmy issues at 70 mph etc.; however with the Tit.S now needing tires, I decided I could live with Costco and have them put the tires on -- then at my 20K, I'll get the dealer to do an alignment/balance on the hunter machine (unless Costco has hunter then ... nevermind).

Two tires, installation and disposal fee at Costco for Diamaris - 19" 275/45R19 = $568.94

I got the Latitudes (19's) at Costco last year and no vibration or shimmy issues...

Are they cheaper.. what is the speed rating? Did they/do they last longer than Diamaris?

Let me just say this one more time - I loved Diamaris on my Cayenne S on the 19" rims.

For me - for summer - there is NO other tire!!!

I sold the vehicle with less than 6K on the tires but the wear rating is twice that on the Diamaris- more of a touring tire than an out and out performance tire, but hell, I wasn't autocrossing that beast- I have a Lotus Elise for that!! If I had a Cayenne with need for tires I buy them again...
