Default Anyone have 295's on their 20'' wheel?

Just purchased a 08 Cayenne and I am going to get some black Victor Equipment 20" Lemans Wheels.

I know the standard size is 275 45/20 but my tire shop said that I could go up to 295 45 20 which would give me more choices in tires and much better prices. Tirerack confirms this but they will only confirm it for a 06 as they have not gotten a 08 yet.

Anyone have any experience with this size?

Also if anyone has experience with the VE Lemans.

Porsche spec for the 20" tire is 275/40-20, not 275/45-20. You will find no N-spec tires in 275/45-20.

Porsche recommeds tires for the Cayenne be from 28.7" to 29.5" in diameter.

The 295/45-20 tires you are contemplating are 30.5" in diameter.

Just so you know.

WHat is the GEMBELLA 750 run?...

Having done lotsa "upping" in tire sizes in many trucks and cars...1'' is nothing.
It equates to 12.6mm diferance from center hub to out side tire, ie: will raise the pepper by 1/2 and inch.
That diferance i would think will have little to no change on the sensors (ABS and stability programs) and just a hair change to the speedo.
I would check the possibility of contact of the inner wheel well and the inside tire.
Only real good way to check is with a stress test,( AFTER YOU CHECK FOR CONTACT at a stand still) Clean the inner wheel well and take for a spine.....drive hard into corners and apply full brake.
If thiers a tad of contact a small wheel spacer may do the fix.
Good luck......the Pepper really needs larger tires!!!!
305/45/20?????

Yeah, what was I NOT thinking?

Don't stop at 20" - go to 22's!

315/30-22 should do the trick - and they meet the diameter spec!

Be sure to post pics!

Here's a Cayenne - Touareg - Cayenne - Touareg - sheesh, I always get confused - with 315/35-20's on 20 x 11 wheels:

Have fun!

I have 285s on my 22" wheels (285-35-22). Even 285 is a close fit. A couple times I have driven out of a steep driveway with the wheels turned at a clip that was a bit too fast a couple of times and the front tires rubbed the wheel wells slightly. A 295 on the front could be pushing it.

Your correct. I mistyped 275/40 /20. I had two priamry reasons for going with the 295.

1) Better choices on the 295 = much better prices. Having been a Porshce owner for 8 years it always seems what P-cars need always costs more!

2) I thought the 295/45 would give the tire some more protection from curb damage.

I also am looking to get colored crests which I figure I need to get painted black since the factory does not sell those and only sends them with factory black wheels.

Does anyone know the best place to get them? I have seen and have been quoted $185 for a set and maybe $100 to get them painted by a body shop.

I have also seen an ebay seller seshoponline (sorry not allowed to post a link yet I guess)

I dont think anything this guys sells is OEM but he has some great responses.

I think I might have some of those. When I get back home tonight I will take a look. When I bought my wheels, I went out and bought a few diff types of center caps on e-bay and have some left over.

False alarm. The black caps I have are actually 50mm adhesive, Porsche logo on black background.

Good quality but frankly I am not sure there is a Cayenne app unless it would fit inside the larger cap as used in the 18" turbo-look wheels.

Anyone that wants these can PM me - I will sell them cheap before I lose 'em.
