The front of the car has all of the features of a T5 which is the body type that it should be based on the year. It has Elon gated hood, lack of gas access door, and lack of vents under the windshield. The rear of the car, however, seems to be T6 body type with double vent on the rear engine compartment lid and the overall shape looks more like a T6.

Update on this. The Karmann Hardtop had the same body as the Cabriolet. Therefore, the rear of the car did not change from T-5 to T-6. The rear lid is interchangeable from the single grille to the twin grille. There are other examples of 1961 356B T5 with twin rear lid grilles that I found. I understand that the twin grille may have been a factory option at the time.

Dual grilles were not a regular option for T-5 cars. However, they were on A Carrera cars.

In those years, Porsche was relatively accommodating to their customers and willing to do much to make a sale. So it is possible that the deck lid was installed in 1961 by the factory. The Kardex would list an option like that.

Body panels, including deck lids, were almost always stamped with match numbers. You could check those.

However, it is at least 100 times more likely that the deck lid was switched- they are basically interchangeable.
