Default 356a paint shop in SF bay area

Hi folks -- hope you are doing well. I wanted to check to see if anyone has had a good experience with a paint / body shop on the bay area by any chance for painting an A coupe.

I have a 56 A coupe that has been in the shop for almost 3 years getting some body work done and is basically done, except for paint. It has been primered and is ready to go, but the guy working on it is dragging his feet and actually moving his shop to another part of N CA.

Been too long in the shop and am hoping to get this project done so figured I would ask if anyone has had a good experience. Thanks in advance!

Sanjay

Altissimo Restoration is between Napa and american canyon there prices are a little steep but you get what you pay for they do amazing work i would say base price would start at 10-12k and up from there depending on how crazy you want to go. the owners name is brandon really great guy, he has done quite a few Porsche's in the last couple years (911, 356, 914)

Make sure you get the Glasurit or ppg paint. The paint alone with primers, etc is $3-$5k. Then get preared to spend another $10-$20 for labor... Assuming you want a nice job. It's sickening how much it costs

Thanks -- agree on the cost side! Unfortunately don't have much of a choice with what the car is worth now

the funny thing is the 356 is a VW bug, or pretty darn close. I doubt they would charge $30k to paint a bug. But since a 356 is worth more.... Well, you get the picture

Thank you! It WAS my CGT. I drove it all the time and sold it with 19k miles for $235 or something like that around 2009. Oops.

Del has been retired for a few years, just working on his own cars, of which he has more than a few.
Tod Rego in Watsonville, or Gary's Rods and Customs also in Watsonville. Everybody is moving out to cheaper locations, to counties without the Bay Area air resource restrictions. Also Adam Johnson who was the painter at Canepa is at well hidden shop 425 Hecker Pass Highway also Watsonville.
Holleran Performance in Auburn does a nice job.

DInk Farmer in Ukia is or was the best. Not sure if he is still working but the company was called Farmer Bros. in Ukiah. Dink did lots of Speedsters/356 and paint for concour cars.
He restored my 1959 super sunroof coupe
