Default 1957 Speedster sold in Sydney

Went to the Shannon's car auction in Sydney this evening.

All $ in $A (multiply by 3/4 for $US):

1957 speedster (LHD to RHD plus disc brake conversion) $411,000
1959 Junior Diesel $28,000

Plus:

1969 Torino 428 coupe $112,000
1964 split widow kombi $45,000
1913 T $27,000
1903 Oldsmobile $71,000
1927 T speedster $15,000
1951 MB 170S sedan $27,500
1959 VW beetle sunroof $20,500

All vehicles in good to very very very good condition.

Crazy prices these days. Makes me think it may be time to sell my much more lowly '60 356 coupe. Maybe Seinfeld is feeling the same thing by selling 10% of his collection for ~$22 million.

I barely passed on a '61 356 cab for $2,400 back in '66; paid $1,700 for a new '67 VW Beetle around then; if only I had known!

Dang, times 3/4s this to get the US o' A Values? When you say "Speedter"
are you meaning wake up in the morning then Jumping into your 356 Speedster for a sip and a Biscotti at first and all of that came from a conversation seeinh what was on the barbie for the "Let's go get a coffee and some muffin's, scone's"... Still have those piknic blankets in the fronk for the picknic we had a few months ago in the Fronk?
