Hi guys,

My father passed away recently and while I knew he owned a Porsche when he was younger, I didn't know anything about it.

I was going through some of his old movies and found some footage of it. Here are some fuzzy screenshots. This film was taken in Thredbo village (Snowy Mountains, NSW, Australia) in 1964.

I would really like some help identifying the car. I don't know anything about these early Porsches - maybe you can tell the year, engine type or something from these photos? It would be amazing if I could track down the actual car, but I know that is a reaaaallly long shot.

All help appreciated.

Cheers,
Henry.

I came across this page http://www.mejor.com/356/356picar.htm, and so now I believe it is a 356B Type 5 from 1960 or 1961.

Does that seem right?

Cheers,
Henry.

Not a T6 hood so probably a 60 or 61 B.

That's right Henry.

356B, version T-5. Think it could be '60, '61. I thought the early '62's were still T-5.

The nipple shape of the hubcaps tells us that it is an S (super) model. The S had the mid grade 75 hp motor. The base car had 60 hp and the Super 90 had 90 hp.

Good luck finding Dad's old car. That would be awesome !

My guess would be a 356 B. The B has those type wheel covers.
