Post Porsche 356 (1958) convertible D video

I got to drive a beautiful convertible D over the weekend and took some video footage you might enjoy. The opening shot is in front of a house also built in 1958

What a lovely car.

I own a 1961 356 B that I purchased in about 1958 for $1,000 It it had no power, however that was normal for sports cars in that time frame. Since, I purchased a 2001 911 new. Subsequently, I've purchased a 1955 Bel Air Conv., 1`957 Bel Air Convert, etc, etc. What I learned is that non of these classics are completely reliable on the road. They are high maintenance. What you learn, is they are great show cars & fun to drive. As a result, I'v now ordered a replica 1959 Porsche 356 A Convertible D. Difference: 330 HP Subaru turbo, four wheel disc brakes, air conditioning, & reliable heat source, great sound system. If it's put together with correct badges etc. you can't tell if it's real or not. This is the car I could drive from Palm Springs, CA to New York in the Summer without a problem. Come home & drive my 1961 356 B Cab. to a car show & everyone will go "Wow" what a beauty. I love classics, but you need to own two: a replica, (modern term-resto-mod) that runs well overlong distances & an original for show.

Very cool. I recognize those roads in New Canaan.
