Early cars have gone up in value. Used to be the least desirable of the 356's because they drove the worst. Now, I guess because they are all so old (newest cars are almost 50 years old!), people want them.

Truck now wired up with brake controller for car hauler. Winch came as well, need to figure out how and where to bolt it to car hauler. No paper work or title found, need to contact Secretary of State. All for now...

Had a few hours to work on my car hauler. Brakes don't seem to work, though controller says it is applying the stopping. Drilled through front plate for mounting winch. A friend, his son and I are headed to Lansing area to extract the 356 next Saturday. I am hopeful car will come out of hiding with some cooperation. It will be a long day. I do have a long list of items to take, and the activities associated with the extraction...well I am a Program Manager...

IT IS OUT!!!!!!!!! Seeing daylight for the first time in 45+ years! If you PM me, I'll send a link to the pics. What an ordeal. Took about 6 hours. The car was facing downward at probably a 60 degree angle. I now know it was a Continental. So many little parts and pieces found. The engine actually looks very good - though I left it behind for a future retrieval. Actually rolled nicely (though tires were flat) and steers!

. It's super rusty, paint was stripped 40 years ago. Amazing that it remained intact while being yanked out from a 60 degree nose down attitude. The engine is in another shed, it looks quite good.
