I am bringing it back to original conditionl. There quite a bit of parts that are not shown and the body is very very very nice. I know from the pics it doesn't realy look it.

Are you planning on leaving the extra gages on the dash?
Actually Black944T, the pictures don't look as bad as some of the other "Before" pictures we've seen of 356's
JoAnne
PS: Anyone else with photo's????? Come on guys. I know you have them.....
This pic was taken by Ed Hyman ant the 2004 ECH. Ed easily takes
1500 pictures at the Holiday. He is a great photographer!

I was trying to figure out wheter those gauges where original to any cars? I think he will probably want to keep them. I think the car was raced back in the sixties. I guess I will find out soon. I am trying to find out some more info on it. Do you know anything about the brakes? I know that those are not standard either.

I asked several Speedster friends about the drum brake in your picture. What they said (all of them) is that it has the the vented backing plate which was used with Carrera brakes. The more I look at the picture, they more I think we even have those on our Max......
Hope this helps.

Speaking of brakes and Max..... this is how your wife/ S.O. will find you if you've used too much brake cleaner on your 356:

LOL, very good thanks. That is the same story that I have heard about the brakes as well. I am extremely interested to the Certificate of Authenticity to find out what it had. I realy appreciate your help. Great pics btw.

Back to Black944T and his Speedster's brake question. Here is another response I got from one of my Speedster Friends who can recite Speedster knowledge like a preacher can quote from the bible:
"The 2 little gauges, the ashtray, and the cigarette lighter have been added. The radio looks like it's mounted in the remains of that part of a later dash and bolted below the Speedster dash.
It's possible but unlikely the two little gauges, ash tray and lighter
were put in at the factory. The CoA would say if they were.
Carrera brakes had scoops. I don't know if these are original Carrera
brakes of home made scoops. Carrera brakes are 60 mm wide (braking
surface in drum) and regular are 40 mm so it's pretty easy to tell.
The dash has a 1600 normal tach and no sign of the 2 Carrera coil
switches so it's very doubtful the car has Carrera brakes".
Hope this helps...
