Barely 18 - Topless and naked pics. (No 56k)
My 924th Post
OK, I recently picked up an 88 924s. Build date 10/87, so she's legal, barely.
Here's the topless pic.
Here's a naked pic - I've stripped off the front sheetmetal, you can see it's bent slightly to the passenger's side, and the driver's side is pushed back a bit. Going to the body shop in a couple of weeks to get this taken care of.
Here's a before pic from the previous owner.
If anyone was ever wondering, or don't believe unless you see it yourself, an early offset wheel doesn't quite fit on a 924s
That's all for now. Sorry to disappoint you.

I pulled all the parts I need from my 944 parts car. I'd maybe like to fit some sort of spoiler to the front of the car but I'm not sure what's out there.

Now that I have the two cars side by side I like the lines of the 944. Some people think the 944 looks "fat", and that's not phat. To each his own. Also, I wll say it's been a long time since I"ve been in a car with the early interior, and I like the later dash much better than the early one.

924S is in all extents and purposes a 944 just lighter and with a lower drag coaficient...
Personally i like the looks of the 924 better then a 944, and in no way is it a "joke" car.

Sry guys, it just seems to me, that for a lot of people 924 is some sort of car to make fun of (Bashing "war" in Pelican forums some time ago for example). I agree, they've never been hp-monsters. I've never driven on a 90hp US-version 924, but Euro versions with 125hp has decent performance.
Maybe I'm just little bit paranoyed about that 924-non-real-Porsche thing, but I've owned some different Porsches and driven lots of them due to my occupation and I feel the urge to defence 924 against "attacks"

No, not right away. She's been hanging around the house for about a month now. I picked this one up, then stripped everything I hoped I'd need off my 944 before getting rid of that tub. It's been so warm out lately I've been able to get outside and work on it without my fingers freezing up.
One fun thing - the previous owner's idea of a dme relay was a toggle switch on the dash, and to the right was off, to the left was on. So I killed the battery right away. Another project - another day.

Door county is just full of F.I.B.S anyway.
