Where do you buy Swepco 201?
I am getting ready to change my oil, set my valves and plugs. I would like to change the tranny fluid also since I cannot verify the last time it was done (new owner). So where do you get Swepco 201?

I have to add here that I just put Swepco 212 in my 83SC.I had been running 201 and decided to try the 212 to see if I could tell a difference. WOW !! Without question this made a difference. I got the 212 from Pelicanparts.

IYO, would 212 be OK in a 915 tranny that had a rebuild about 1,000 miles ago? I'm getting ready to drain her out and replace. I was going to go with 201 (the wrench used Castrol, after he drained my 201 out when it blew a seal), however I have not ordered yet, and if 212 is a better choice, I'll go that way. Thanks for your input!

I have tried a couple of different tranny fluids, Redline, and Swepco 201. The 201 was better than the Redline, but 915 trannys tend to favor a non synthetic fluid so the Swepco was much better. I was reading a post on Pelicanparts about the 212, if you go to pelican and do a search Warren Hall has a post that really gives the low down on why 212 is a better choice than 201. Now this info mainly applies to high heat areas, like in the deep south, or racing applications.I find that my tranny shifts a bit smoother and my first gear is not quite as notchy, I have 248,000 miles on an origional tranny and I am fighting a rebuild. I change my tranny fluid every year as a precaution.
This may be over kill.... but anything I can do to make my car shift better untill I can afford the rebuild is a good thing !

I have 201 in my G50. some people say "don't / can't" whilst Swepco say "OK".... now here'es the dilema. I have a Club sport (i live in UK so it's EU spec) has an LSD, and I heard that 201 might prevent correct operation of the LSD. Could anyone confirm this ? - What it the best oil to help the notchy 1st to 2nd gear change ? - Swepco seems to do the trick....but @ what risk ?

Hi all, I used to sell SWEPCO. The differance between 201 and 212 is molybdenum sulfide, which is a moly additive. According to SWEPCO you may not want to use moly in some LSD trannys but 201 or 210 will work fine in LSD. I run 201 in my '79 930 with LSD, and my '88 G50 with no problems and both cars run DEs. SWEPCO 210 and 203 moly comes in multi-grade and single grade oils. SWEPCO 210 and 212 moly comes in only 80w/140 multi-grade oil.
