Ive had my mpss for about 1 month and it has been a suoerb upgrade over the mps2's. However i noticed after long drives the rear tires look very dirty like iv driven over sandy roads! Its only on the rear tires. What is this? Is there a protective coating? Hoe do i remove it? It looks really bad. The. Car looks like it has gone off roading after a long drive? Help

What do you use for tire dressing? Use 303 on clean tires.

I put on turtle wax tire shine when it was new. Could this be the one? Iv put it on other tires and the previous mps2 without this effect. Could the new compound tires be reacting?

I would clean the tires using a good tire cleaner and try a different coating on them next time. Shy away from dressings that use silicone.

Michelins have a uv protectant embedded in the rubber that comes to the surface when exposed to uv rays to protect from dry rot. It is brown on color. It is designed to go back into the rubber at operating temperature and generally is only visible after the car sits outside. I would advise not to clean it off for tire longevity sake. Applying 303 aerospace protectant would be a good idea but not greasy tire shine.

too late now i scrub the damn things off as damon suggested. used a combination of dishwashing soap and 3m tire cleaner!. eventually got the diry coating off. maybe now i will just apply the 303 on the tires.
Hi Damon any simple suggestions on tire dressing? i think the 303 will be good. how about some suggestions here to use the new original armor all that they say is water based? i do not have access to cosmopolitan brands like ps etc etc. simple brands are the only things i could buy locally. i got the 303 from the US

I buy Stoner's "More Shine" online by the case. Super easy, works well and has covered the coating on more tire brands than I can remember. I've been using it for at least 10 years. Lasts and doesn't sling a whole lot. One problem is that it comes out as a pretty fine aerosol and I try to apply it in the garage because wind will cause it to drift onto the car. If that occurs, I just run a clean microfiber over the area and it comes right up. (black car, btw)

Another very good tires dressing is Vinylex (blue bottle). Same people who make the Lexol leather cleaner (orange) and conditioner (brown).

I was always taught to use the Vinylex by our PCA Concours School Judges (Pat Y.). But, I always had a hard time finding the product retail. Finding the 303 is much easier (and now I buy in a gallon jug from Phil at Detailers Domain) and I feel works better and has more applications on our cars. Better UV protection, too.

FWIW, I purchased my MPSS ~3 months ago and I do recall seeing some brown spots initially but have not noticed any recently. The contributing factors may be the use of 303 and that my car is typically garaged so not much time in the sun. GL and keep us posted on the outcome.

I usually notice this after a good spirited run. Last weekend went up to the mountains zig zag roads, curves . When i got to my destination i observed my dirty tires specially compared to the other porsches neside me.

To illustrate here is a picture of my MPSS that sat in the sun about an hour. I never let any protectant near the tread, so you'll see some brown towards the outside of the sidewall. The other side of the car was shaded and you'll see it stayed black. The UV protectant is that brown stuff and is designed to be reabsorbed into the rubber after driving, so I don't know why you're seeing it after driving unless it's something else.
