Awesome footage and cool wheel side perspective. Is the car the Boxster from your avatar? And what sort of camera did you use and how was it mounted. Go Pro I assume?

It's the car in my av - a 2.7 liter base Boxster.

I used a Motorsports series GoPro Hero2 that was suction cupped to the side of the fender. I wanted to try a different perspective, and it worked out OK. I'm going to use the open back next time and try to muffle the wind noise with some microphone foam.

get an external mic for $11 from amazon, connect to the hero2, and place the mic behind the license plate frame. There isn't a better place to get good sound. The dead cat cover/foam over the housing doesn't compare. I've tried it all.

Thanks for the tip. I don't have a front plate frame, but I can mount it behind the bumper cover.

Yeah, the 'key' is that the exhaust is at the rear of the car. Not the front.

Will the mic reach the rear if the camera's mounted on the front?

If you get an extension cord, yes. A quick trip to radio shack.

You can get both at either amazon or radio shack.
Amazon will have more selection.

This is the one I have:
Olympus ME-52W Noise Canceling Microphone
http://amzn.com/B000MYPPPE

The price has gone up since I bought mine.
