Just got this tune done. 3 "selections" possible: stock, ~race nominal octane 91-93, and race 100 octane.

I'm DDing with the second selection since it's so much fun and really smooth. After a couple hundred miles I'm really liking the results. Has anyone else gone with APR?

I have had good experiences with them on other platforms. APR is pretty pricey for just a tune, if you go with Protomotive - the following 3 updated tunes are free, this is great if you decide to mod further.

Good to hear from an APR user over here. I know they've been killing it for years on the Audis and VWs, but I haven't seen them get a lot of love from the Porsche owners on the forums.

I heard APR has recently hired 10 engineers to work Porsche tuning, especially with later year models.
What sold me on the APR tune was that the owner of APR owns(ed) a 996TT. Still liking the tune and can hardly wait for the next track day!

I used APR on my allroad 2.7T and it was a great tune. No issues with it whatsoever.

APR is a class act. Have visited their facility a few times, have experience with them with my A4. Glad to see another competitor in the mix.

Funny because some of their (older) logos include Porsche tuning - seems like they started doing some Porsche work, it didn;t go too deep - then focused more on Audi/VW...guess now they are adding more support for Porsche.

I think as the 996 prices come down and more of the VW and Audi guys pick them up the aftermarket support will come along.

How do those numbers compare with other tunes (UMW, GAIC, etc)? I know different dynos calibrate differently. It would be interesting to see a comparison using the same car on the same dyno.

I had the tune done by Achtuning in Redmond WA. Great shop, great people....and very reasonable price wise.

apr also has great support c/s by phone. i have their software on my gti and it flies.

April 12th is my next test/tune/lapping day…..can't wait to test the tune out on the track.

Sorry for what might be a dumb question but how do you switch between tunes?

Start the car, turn the cruise control on, depress the lever until engine light blinks 1, 2 or 3 times in succession. Let off the lever at the chosen tune and shut off car. Turn key on without starting for 10 sec and then turn key off for 10 seconds. Wait 5 seconds start car ....good to go. That was from memory so hopefully correct
