An Owner’s Worst Nightmare Became True When He Got a Phone Call Regarding His Porsche GT3 RS

We’ve all been there, standing at a dealership or mechanic shop’s counter handing over the keys to our precious bundles ‘o joy. While most technician test drives go according to plan, there are others that don’t. Even worse, it’s when a non-justified joy ride by the shop owner goes completely south. That’s exactly what happened to Rennlist member Ccapx.

The extremely valuable and coveted 991 GT3 RS is thought to be the ultimate Porsche. Sadly, such temptation proved to be too much for the owner of Bob Hindson Racing, Inc. According to multiple sources including the car’s owner, he took the vehicle on a four-hour joy ride, which including hard launches, redlining the motor, engaging in reckless driving, and ultimately smashing the thing into a building.

According to the 25-page thread currently on Rennlist, the irresponsible ride culminated when the GT3 RS was launched hard from a standstill after the driver turned off the traction control. The stupid move resulted in the driver losing control and making the Porsche hop a median, head into incoming traffic, and smash into a brick wall. Oh, and there was also a passenger present. Luckily no one was hurt, but they sure came very close.

I am working on a comprehensive write up to post here and other places, this guy is very dangerous. Yes, this went on for sometime over four hours, there are witnesses that saw the car in multiple places in Kansas City doing hard accelerations and letting the back-end go. There is also security camera tape. The more I dig into this, the worse it gets. And no, this is not the first time he has ripped a customer car. It is actually more shocking a week later, the more I find out. We have pulled the ECM as well,” said Ccapx on the forum thread.”

Fellow forum members have helped with witness statements and even with collecting evidence, as this case seems to slowly morph into a huge legal battle.

We wish our fellow member the best possible outcome, and that the shop owner pays fully for his irresponsible actions.
