If you’re going to make the most beautifully designed cars around, it only makes sense to have the most beautifully designed headquarters too. And Porsche’s new U.S. headquarters is definitely beautiful.

But don’t take my word for it, ask the American Society of Interior Designs Georgia Chapter, who just named Porsche Cars North American Headquarters and Experience Center the gold medal winner in their Corporate Over 25,000 Square Feet category. (Someone should give the Society an award for windiest-sounding award.)

“Porsche’s vision was to create a bold environment where the physical elements are as memorable as its vehicles’ driving experience. This honor from ASID Georgia reinforces the success of the project and Porsche’s vision,” said Betsy Nurse, vice president and director of interiors for HOK, the design firm responsible for the 24,155 square foot project.

A recent profile by ArchDaily gives you a pretty good idea of just what Nurse means, as you can see in the photos below (there are plenty more in the profile.) The Center contains offices for 400 Porsche employees, visitor attractions for an estimated 30,000 annual guests, a gourmet restaurant, a restoration center, a design studio, a simulator lab, the New Vehicle Delivery Program, and, most importantly, a 1.6-mile track integrated into the lower levels.

It really is a thing of beauty, and certainly deserving of more awards. Who knows, maybe next year this time, we’ll be talking about the awards garnered for the HOK designed four-star Solis hotel going up next door to the Center.
