Excellent News: Keanu Reeves Is a Porsche Guy
You know, the more I hear about this Keanu Reeves guy, the more I like him. And this latest news just upped his likeability big time.
It turns out that Keanu, aka Ted Theodore Logan, is a Porsche Guy. And not just any Porsche guy, but a 911 Carrera 4S kind of Porsche guy. Most excellent!
“I don’t just love hitting turns and apexes… I enjoy the fact that the car allows me to be fast and efficient. I have developed a bond with it,” Reeves told Porsche’s publicity writer.
And apparently its a monogamous bond; though he could probably afford a few more, Reeves just sticks to one car at a time. Though this current Carrera isn’t the only one he’s ever loved.
Reeves’ last car, “The Sled,” was one of the last air-cooled 911s, a 993 Carrera 4S, that he loved with a passion. But it was sadly stolen from Reeves while he was away filming. See, movie stars hurt too.
After a period of mourning, Reeves decided to stick with 911s. He went to Porsche’s Customer Consultation Center in Beverly Hills, and designed the car you see here — complete with custom touches like black anodized interior trim panels and a 12-o’clock center marker on the steering wheel.
The motorcycle you see above you is also his. Reeves designed the bike, a KRGT-1, along with his partner, Gard Hollinger. Together they formed the Arch Motorcycle Company to “design and build the motorcycle of Reeves’ dreams.” Of course, they used the 911 for inspiration.
