RM Sotheby’s Offering Extensive Swiss Porsche Collection of Classics and Rarities — with No Reserve Price

Every now and then, a Porsche collection shows up worthy of excessive drooling. And that’s exactly what’s set to hit the block at a series of upcoming RM Sotheby auctions. A total of 42 incredible Porsche vehicles is coming up for grabs, beginning with 13 set to be sold in Paris on February 8. The remaining cars will cross the block at various other RM auctions across the globe — all with no reserve.

The collection encompasses a wide range of Porsche history, both new and old. Currently in the hands of a discerning Swiss collector, it’s like a greatest hits collection of sorts. The classics, customs and rarities include the “requisite” 1988 959 Sport, which has a catalog estimate of $1.5 to $2 million. But the highly original and incredibly rare car — one of only 29 built — is just one of many stunning Porsches.

Even rarer is the 1994 964 Turbo S “Package” car, one of only 17 produced. The “Package” moniker refers to the traditional 964 nose, which replaces the more common flat-nose front.

More “common” rides in the Porsche collection include a 2004 911 GT3 RS and 2004 911 GT2.

There is also more than a handful of awesome vintage Porsches up for grabs. These include a 1973 Carrera RS, an early production model of the first 500 made. Also available is the cream of the crop,  a 1970 917 that was the very first 917 Cam Am Spyder. Chassis number 001 is one of only 13 ever made.

So, whether you’re looking for a nice driver, a bargain performance car, or a legendary race car, you might want to pay attention to these upcoming RM auctions. And even if you aren’t endowed with bulging pockets of cash, you can always drool. Check out the full list of Paris cars here.
